| Below are descriptions of the activities you can include in your event. Take a look and choose the combination you prefer. When choosing you need to bear in mind a number of factors: |
|
| It is up to you to divide your group into teams and the number of people in a team will affect the length of time each individual has hands on. For example, a 4 person team would have about 15 mins each hands on during an hour session, whereas, in a 6 person team each individual would be hands on for about 10 mins. |
| The cost of the day per individual is also affected by the number of people in a team. The greater number of people in a team the lower the cost per person of the day as they have less time hands on. |
| For Example; A group of 12 could run as 6 teams of two people( most expensive), 4 teams of 3 people, 3 teams of 4 people or 2 teams of 6 or even one team of 12( least expensive). |
|
Some activities involve more than one person taking part at a time, some involve all the team members actively participating all or some of the time, some activities only involve one driver at a time(Bedford MJ 4x4 army lorry for example as there is only room for one driver in the cab at a time). So this activity would be a good choice to double up with another activity so each participant team takes part in two activities in a one hour session. |
| To help you understand the Calculation table, following is a description of the headings. |
| Activity. This is the list of activities you can choose from. Click on the activity name for a description of how it operates. |
| Activity number. You will see that against some of the activities there are numbers, (1-3). These are how many separate sessions of the same activity that can take place at the same time. For example, Off road 4x4 you could choose to run three 4x4 sessions (using 3 vehicles) simultaneously. Good for longer training courses. |
| One hour, two hour sessions etc This is where you choose how many hours each activity will be taking place. For standard one hour sessions per team, the number of teams you have will decide how many hours the activity is operating for - 3 Teams = 3 Hours. (There is also the choice to operate in half hour sessions which obviously gives lots less time hands on, but is good for Stag and Hen parties to keep costs down, or to give multiple experiences in a limited time frame). |
| As always there are exceptions to the standard one hour per team norm. You may wish to double up the time on say two activities. |
|
Have two teams each spending two hours at two activities. We often do this when combining skid tuition and off road 4x4 instruction. This would mean both the skid car and 4x4 would operate for four hours in total, so even though there are only two teams you would be choosing the four hour time session. This is also cost effective as you would be getting a lower per hour rate for the two activities. Please remember you cannot double odd numbers of activities as the event timetable will not function. It's in this case where you may want more 4x4 instruction only but with lots of other activities and then you would need to hire more than one 4x4 to double up. |

So.... to work the calculator
|
| Remember you must have at least the same amount of activities as teams to ensure everyone takes part in the same activities. This is because at nearly all our events they are run as a competition, with individual scoring on each activity, team scores on each activity, team scores overall and last to first place overall. This is great fun and the presentation can be in our clubhouse, or at your hotel or pub etc if nearby. |
|
To give you an example of an activity calculated directly from the
comparison table, we'll design an event for a group coming
for an afternoon of fun. There are 20 people in total, and they've decide to have 5 teams, each with 4 team members. They choose the following activities;
They want to have 30 minutes per group at each activity (select the 5 hour/30min column) so tick the boxes for each activity in the column headed 150 minute session. |
|
|
The total cost of the event is £2190.00 Use the calculator to work out the cost per person = £109.50 each. This figure is slightly over their budget, so the swap HGV Driving ('un-tick' HGV Driving) for Archery (tick the box in the same column as the other activities). Their new total cost is £1890, and the cost per person is now £94.50. Well within their £100 per person budget for an afternoon's entertainment, and they'll still have heaps of fun! The table above is designed only to give an indication of prices. For a complete and comprehensive quote, please e-mail us. E&OE |
